National Institute of Fashion Technology announced the result for College written entrance exam in the month of March. Aspirants who find a place for themselves in College merit list for BDes programme admissions need to thereafter appear for College Situation Test round. However, if a candidate took College Entrance Exam 2018 for Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech) course then they can secure admission incolleges accepting College ranks/scores basis their College rank in the written entrance exam only.

Mentioned below is the last Common Merit Rank (CMR) at which candidates were offered admission in the 2016-2017 academic session in BDes as well as BFTech course at the corresponding College campus. The official College website informs that the below mentioned “chart is only an indicative tabulation as the final allotment of campuses as per Common Merit Rank (CMR) may vary from year to year depending on a candidate’s preference. The domicile category seats are available in campuses located at Kannur, Patna, Kangra, Jodhpur and Bhubaneswar”.

College entrance exam is usually conducted in the month of February each year. Aspirants who are shortlisted for admission in BDes and MDes programmes basis their performance in College entrance test further need to appear for College Situation Test/Group Discussion/Interview round. Once College results for all these admission rounds are declared, the shortlisted candidates need to take part in College counselling round in order to block their seats for admission in colleges accepting College scores for admission.

College counselling round for admission is conducted in April/May each year. College counselling process details like counselling dates and procedure is mentioned in detailed on the official website of College.

Candidates need to take part in College counselling round on the basis of College entrance exam rank they have secured and also on the basis of the category under which they have applied for admission. National Institute of Fashion Technology (College) conducts multiple counselling rounds at the 16 College campuses. The official College website informs: "The College Head Office will coordinate with all Campuses and the Admission process will take place simultaneously at all Campuses of College".

College Counselling Process 2018

Candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps in order to successfully take part in College counselling round for admissions 2018.

Step 1: Register on the official College website

In order to take part in College counselling process 2018, candidates need to register on the official website of National Institute of Fashion Technology by providing their – College application form number, date of birth and password.

Step 2: Receive College system generated letter

As soon as candidates successfully register on College’s official website they are sent a system generated letter containing details of the Nodal Officer along with a list of important documents required for College counselling and admission. Aspirants need to carry the below mentioned documents for College counselling 2018 in original along with photocopies:

Aspirants are informed that if any of the above mentioned documents required for College counselling are in any other language apart from Hindi/English, then aspirants need to ensure that the same document is translated in English/ Hindi and the translation is duly verified by the “issuing institution/gazetted officer/Self attested (original and photocopy) by the candidate at the time of Counselling / Admission”, as per the official College website. If a candidate fails to produce the document with requisite authentic translation then his/her candidature may be cancelled.

Step 4: Take part in College Counselling round & get documents verified

On the day of the counselling, aspirants need to report at their allotted College counselling centre at 9:30 am sharp. Candidates need to carry documents along with photocopies to their College counselling centre. “The original certificates, except the medical certificate, will be returned to the candidate after verification”, informs the official College website.

Step 5: Take part in College Seat Allocation Process

After the document verification process is over, candidates need to take part in College seat allocation process. Here, candidates need to select the college/seat by clicking on its name on a monitor in the presence of the Nodal Officer for College admissions 2018.

Step 6: Pay the Admission Fee

Next, if a candidate is offered a seat for College admission at any of the National Institutes of Fashion Technology campuses then they need to pay the notified fee immediately. The official website informs: "If a candidate fails to pay the fee, after the seat has been offered, the offer will be withdrawn and the seat will be allotted to the next candidate on the merit list. Part payment or payment through cash/cheque will not be accepted under any circumstances".

Step 7: Receive Allotment Letter

Once all the above mentioned steps are completed, the candidate is issued an allotment letter or admission receipt that is duly signed by the Nodal Officer of the College Campus. Once this receipt is received the candidate cannot make any alterations in the course/campus selected by him/her for admission.

College entrance exam application process usually commences in the month of November and College exam for design course admissions takes place in the month of February each year. Candidates need to fill College application form online on the official website of the design entrance examination. But only filling the College application form does not solve the purpose, candidates need to ensure that they complete and submit their application form for College admissions as per the date and time mentioned by officials. College admit card would be issued for only those candidates who have duly filled and submit their College application for admission. In order to successfully register for College entrance exam, candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps and fill all the details as required correctly.

Step 1: Create Login ID

In order to successfully register for College entrance exam, aspirants need to visit the official website of the design school and create a login ID. Details that candidates need to provide to create their College login ID are as mentioned below:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Category
  • Email ID
  • Programme applied for admission

Once these details are provided, College login ID is created. Also, candidates need to note that details provided by them in their login ID cannot be modified at a later stage. Thus, they need to fill this information very carefully.

Once all these details are submitted a window opens on the screen which states that an acknowledgement has been sent at the email address mentioned in the application form for College admission by the aspirant. Further, candidates need to login on the official website using the email ID and date of birth mentioned by them while creating the login ID.

Step 2: Fill College Entrance Exam 2018 Application Form

After creating the login ID, candidates need to fill the below mentioned details in the College application form:

Step 3: Upload Photograph & Signature

Further, candidates need to upload their photograph as well as signature with their College entrance exam application form. Both these files need to be uploaded in jpg/jpeg format and should be less than 50 KB in size.

Step 4: Pay College Admissions Application Fee

Next, aspirants need to pay the application fee for College entrance exam which they can pay online (by means of Credit Card/Debit Card/Netbanking) or by Demand Draft (DD).

Aspirants who opt to pay College application fee through DD need to make sure that the College Demand Draft is drawn in favour of “College HO” and is payable at New Delhi. The DD for College application form need to include details such as the candidate’s name, date, fee amount and signature of the issuing authority. Step 5: Take print of College application form

Once all the above mentioned steps are complete, aspirants need to submit their College entrance exam application form. Thereafter, candidates need to take a clear print of the College application form along with proof of payment and keep it securely with themselves.
